Jason Perry? I have see(not in person, magazine, maybe online) such a setup. For a glider. The cabinet itself was, or was modeled after, a car race simulator game. Transported by trailer. I want to say 1980's or early 90's. The big thing was to block out the sun to see the analog tv.

 

I have been searching online for cabinet plans but, have yet to find anything but stand-up or coffee table(pacman) models.

Strip out the game, and tie the seat position to the GPS/gyro on the vehicle. Toss in some goggles and head tracker and your virtually there.

Buds work great and can be found cheep. Kids will destroy these. May want to ask school if they use volume limit like apple offers in IOS so kids keep volume down to prevent ear damage.

I've read the earbuds were the most dangerous as far as hearing damage being the fact the sound drivers has (in effect)a direct sealed pipe to the ear drum... The cheap muff over ear design does not. Imho safer.
