G+_Phillip Adcock
I had a hard drive crash in my notebook, I had the files backed up however, my restore disk seems to be corrupt. What is the best way I can get windows on my hard disk, I currently have to run Ubuntu in order to use my notebook. My notebook is an older model Gateway, Model MD2614u. It came with Windows Vista x64 but I had got a free Windows 7 32 bit disc and was running it on the old hard drive. I don't care for Ubuntu, its not compatible with the school system I use. I just need an good way to get Windows back on my computer and I don't want to spend more than $15, Id rather do it free. It runs on an AMD Turion processor. G+_Brandon Ingli
Boot off the install cd? Enter bios (usually f12 but look on the screen at boot for the correct key) to do so.

G+_Phillip Adcock
Well actually it doesnt seem to be my hard drive bad, it seems there is a bad driver on windows that is causing it to fail when booting, anyone here know how to fix that? G+_James Berry
Boot it into safe mode and see if you can update the driver there. Windows will load a minimal load in safe mode and should let you get in to fix the driver issue.
