G+_George Kozi
This is an ugly story. I don't know who messed up, but someone did. Apple has the ability to trace every Apple product, haven't they? They got wtchamacallitdoodaas for that. That's the only way to trace that missing iPad.? I think Apple should do it. This is about reputation, and could end up costing a heck of a lot. Originally shared by Sreek Menon Why I don't shop at Walmart anymore.
G+_Cate
I think the first mistake is going to Walmart in the first place. I never buy Apple products anywhere except from an Apple Store.
G+_Vin Brown
Gee that's rough. I'm not sure what Walmart's refund policy is but why did Walmart give the refund back to whoever did this resulting in it being resold to this guy? Don't you need a legitimate reason to ask for a refund? Why did Walmart give a refund an item that has apparently never even been opened?
G+_Rob Sirota
Did you pay via credit card? if so then you can stop the payment
G+_Jonathan Rose
Vincent Brown if an item is unopened why would you need a reason? I changed my mind and dont want it, I got one as a gift, I want one with more storage, A friend is going to sell me theirs for less. There are tons of reasons to return it and no good reason to not take it back if its unopened. When an item (that isn't perishable) comes back unopened Walmart doesn't take any loss on it as they can just put it back on the shelf and sell it again. G+_Vin Brown
Well Jonathan Rose this case shows why that policy is problematic. Most places here in Australia require a reason to give a refund - the product has to be shown to be faulty otherwise there is no reason to take the product back. Is it standard policy in America to give refunds on products that have nothing wrong with them or is this specific to just Walmart?
G+_Jonathan Rose
Vincent Brown returning unopened items with a receipt is common. I worked at a grocery store at the customer service desk and you wouldn't believe what customers brought back for a refund. Unopened with a receipt won't require an explanation pretty much anywhere (unless its returned a LONG time after is was purchased)
G+_Vin Brown
Geez, that sure seems like a bizzaro world scenario: Walmart gave a refund for an item the customer hasn't even opened just because they changed their mind for some reason (a reason is not even required), but then when another customer has a very legitimate reason to ask for a refund Walmart refuses. That is a ridiculous policy!
