One of the quad copter's strengths is it's maneuverability which you'd lose if you strapped a balloon to it. It'd be fighting itself all the time. G+_Neil Sedlak Posted January 14, 2014 Share Posted January 14, 2014 Lighter than air craft have issues with wind/weather, as well as agility issues for precision flying, although Google's Loon project is in fact autonomous balloons, so they make sense in high altitude applications.
