G+_Lance Gibb
Quads: Bought the Syma trainer and am loving it! Amazing unit for the money. I really want to build my own now, but would like to get complete specs and instructions on what others have built ( at least for my first build). Can anyone recommend a forum or url where I can find details and discussion on what others have done?

G+_Taylor Graham
I just built a 250 from parts. I found a lot of my info on flitetest.com's forums. Basically, pick a frame you like, and hunt for build logs for that frame. I watched a number of youtube videos as well, there are quite a few that cover the entire process. I put a naze32 in my 250 and im really liking it. I recommend it.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
The first Quadcopter episode we did gave a parts list. In two weeks we're showing hire you assemble it.
G+_Lance Gibb
I really want to expand on my initial build with GPS capabilities at some point (return to home, stabilizing flight, etc..) as well as FPV. Is this a realistic expectation for a 250 size quad?
G+_Taylor Graham
totally! you can add a gps to a naze32 very easily. Plus, the gps is only $20. If you get the naze32 fun fly, it will come with a barometer for altitude hold and a magnetometer on the board as well. If you plan to add gps, id go with the funfly board instead of the acro. here's a build log that i used when i built my 250 (i used the same frame). Lots of 250 frames will be like this though. This thread will be helpful if you use the naze on just about any 250 frame though. http://forum.flitetest.com/showthread.php?12207-EMAX-250-Pro-FPV-mini-build-(with-Naze32-GPS-experiments) Also, flash your naze with cleanflight! Its amazing. There is an autotune feature. With the flip of a switch you can have a nicely tuned flight controller, very simple for beginners. I <3 the naze. I also recommend the d4r-ii receiver, you can use cppm with the naze to clean up your wiring. Plus, you get telemetry! Here's my short little build log as well (not as helpful as the other one, but i did some things differently). http://forum.flitetest.com/showthread.php?13738-Emax250-Build-log

G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Yuuup.... It's a step-by-step. And the last live episode of the year will be a step-by-step for a maiden flight. :)
