Why the heck hasn 't this been implemented already?

A bottle that's radially symmetrical about its long axis (the "normal" bottle above) is probably much easier - faster - cheaper to mold.  Not to say the 45° canted neck isn't feasible, but you'd probably have to start from a different bottle blank too (the small bottle that's then heated and "inflated" to make the final bottle form).  I'm guessing that's probably one of the reasons we haven't seen these yet.

Having said that -- I think it's an ingenious idea!

There is a major design flaw with this bottle...

It's far too easy to manufacture the bottle upside down. That's why all current vendors use bottles with openings at the center of the cylinder. In this design, if not properly made, you may actually INCREASE the necessary angle to drain liquid from the bottle...

You tech nerds really need to pay attention to the details.

Peace,

I remember this on Tomorrows World when I was a kid in the seventies. It's a good idea for some applications, but also introduces the single-orientation limitation. If you're using the product one-handed (whilst holding a bag, kid or riding a bicycle), there will be adjustment issues.
