G+_George Kozi
Why the heck hasn't this been implemented already? Originally shared by Interesting Engineering A good idea?
G+_Rob Fulcher
A bottle that's radially symmetrical about its long axis (the "normal" bottle above) is probably much easier - faster - cheaper to mold. Not to say the 45° canted neck isn't feasible, but you'd probably have to start from a different bottle blank too (the small bottle that's then heated and "inflated" to make the final bottle form). I'm guessing that's probably one of the reasons we haven't seen these yet. Having said that -- I think it's an ingenious idea!
G+_Demond Rice
Its like when they started making catsup bottles to sit upside down on its lid.
G+_Rudy Vazquez
Rob Fulcher I'm sure the same could be said for the aforementioned redesigned ketchup bottle. Mfgr didn't want to pony up the cash for a new mold aka greed.
G+_Ken Torbeck
I am guessing storage. That little amount over the edge with the cap on may make it difficult for bottles to be side by side. That said I really like the idea.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
There is a major design flaw with this bottle... It's far too easy to manufacture the bottle upside down. That's why all current vendors use bottles with openings at the center of the cylinder. In this design, if not properly made, you may actually INCREASE the necessary angle to drain liquid from the bottle... You tech nerds really need to pay attention to the details. G+_Steve Huffer
I remember this on Tomorrows World when I was a kid in the seventies. It's a good idea for some applications, but also introduces the single-orientation limitation. If you're using the product one-handed (whilst holding a bag, kid or riding a bicycle), there will be adjustment issues.
