G+_Rob Yesta
Do you think this will work? It's a cheap $40 Action Cam. Lighter than a GoPro. I don't want to trash a good GoPro learning to fly. I added foam between the Quadcopter body and mount. Or should I just wait to get cage? End goal will be adding FPV next spring once I get good at flying the FPV250.
G+_chris miller
I would have started with a #808 16 key chain cam. That thing looks big and bulky. It just sticks up so high looks like it's going to be too heavy. Just my opinion
G+_chris miller
Pretty little quad
G+_Taylor Graham
You'll definitely feel the weight and drag. Your flight times will also suffer. With all the compromises, you might want to just get a cheap low profile camera like a mobius (only 40g!).
G+_Rob Yesta
I only plan to use the camera for filming. I do not plan to keep it on all the time.
G+_Taylor Graham
Well, if you've got the lift, you can carry it! You might get a lot of jello in your video because of the way the camera is mounted. Velcro is good for reducing jello, but that camera is really tall. You might not be able to prevent it. You'll see how it is when you test it though!
G+_Tom Nardi
Like already suggested, a #808 cam would make a lot more sense, or better yet a Mobius. But if you've already got this one, I guess it's worth a shot.
G+_Conan Mills
I don't see why not. Like Stan, I would be worried about the CG as well. Just make sure you can balance it out with the battery. Were you going to use this for your FPV camera? If so, make sure it has the capability to do live video out.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Uhhhh... don't look now, but I think Wheatley has taken over your quad!
G+_Ben Reese
So how'd it go? Did it fly or fail?
