G+_Chris Pfeifer
Hey, I need some advice. I'm not real savvy about computers and hacking, but someone from Iraq tried to log on to my Facebook in my name. I'm in the US. Could I have other problems I'm not seeing? Would appreciate any advice.
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
Well, I'd certainly make sure your Facebook password is super secure if I were you. Make sure it's a very long password, with numbers, symbols, and a mix of upper/lowercase letters, and then don't worry - the who/why/how of what happened is moot unless he actually got into your account. It sounds like he/she didn't.
G+_John Kelley
Agreed. If a malicious attacker learns your password he/she will try it everywhere else. Twitter, Google, yahoo ...
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
Ah, yes, good point. Always use unique passwords anyway.
G+_Ryan Ballard
After changing your password, PLEASE take advantage of two-factor authentication in Facebook (and anywhere else it's offered). That way, even if they have your password, they still need your device to enter the account.
G+_Chris Pfeifer
Thanks for the advice. I really appreciate it. I was just worried that there might be other issues that I couldn't see. BTW, I now have a much longer password.
