Hey everyone im just wondering  if there any good websites that teach you how  to set up security cameras ??

 

Im also curious if there is a way to set up a security camera system that can load the videos into a Nas Drive like FreeNas

If you are using networked cameras or using a computer with a capture card, you could use Blue Iris software. There is a setting that allows you to place the clips wherever you want. This is actually what I am running now. I got my FreeNas as a mapped network drive on my server, and I set up Blue Iris to save the clips there.

Hmm well My dad has a  ton of CCTV cameras  from where he use to work at so im looking if just having a DVR is  the only option or mayb e theres something else i can use  so i can store them into a NAS drive

You could use a capture card. Blue Iris can use capture cards, but you would need to check compatibility. Also some capture cards come with software that should allow you to pick the file location. It would be dumb for them not to. :)

blue iris is great, but the 45$ hurts the pocket. we need more free solutions and with or android / ios app would be ideal
