G+_Alex Martinez
Well just a update on putting music reacting Leds in my car. I set up the wiring in the car but I'm having a problem when I connect the negative for power and negative on the speaker the led will just stay completely bright and won't react at all . then I tooked the negative for the power off it works and reacts but the speaker sound makes cracking noise now . Im wondering if there is a reason why the setup works on my stereo system but wont work right in my car. Someone told me that the stereo has floating ground or something . I'll have a video of it soon as I can post it ?

G+_610GARAGE
Did you tie the audio ground to car ground? If so, don't. This will short out your speaker system. Speakers work on ac. So sometimes positive will be positive and negative will be negative, but other times, it will be reversed. Also, you will need a much larger resistor (in between the audio source and the transistor) then what Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ used. Car speakers work on a much higher voltage then a headphone jack. I have heard that it is somewhere around 40 volts.
