G+_Alex Martinez
I just wanted to throw a suggestion for a episode on building a solid home security camera system. With your recommendations on a device to record everything , cameras and how to set them up. Reason I want to get one up and running is for my parents since over the years we had people breaking into the house, coming in the backyard at night and even had a home invasion when I was a teenager which a camera system would of been so useful to catch the guys on camera. The synology ds1515+ caught my eye since it looked like a bad ass NAS and found out you can put security cameras on them but not sure how that would do as a place to record the video. Also I just don't have any idea on what cameras are good for outside and night and cost and how IP cameras work. I just want to have a good fountain set up then slowly add more cameras over time. Thanks for being great teachers with his show , I learned so much over the years!
G+_Jason Eckelstafer
I would love to see this as a 2 parter. The Tuesday show could show current out of the box solutions and the Thursday show could illustrate a DIY solution using Pi or something.

G+_Rud Dog
If you have ventured into this area looking to purchase and install you will find a dizzying array of products with both pro's and con's. Unfortunately they tend to cancel one another out leaving you with no idea what to believe. So far my search for a site demonstrating both hardware and software has yielded nothing as this appears to be the best method for basing a sound decision. Seems to me if a company or store wanted people to get past all the dressings and down to brass tacks they would setup such a demo web site for the serious minded buyers. G+_Alex Martinez
Yah it's a confusing mess picking anything from security cameras to something to record it . I actually found out that synology NAS you have to buy licenses to add cameras which really sucks. But I also see they have network video recorder for security cameras NVR216 but have no clue if it's good since there's little reviews on it
