G+_Alex Martinez
Just wondering if there will be any future episodes with Synology Nas. I remember there being a teaser a while ago where Synology was connected to a VPN service and the other clients would route through them but i dont remember ever seeing a Know how on it. Would love to see an episode of nothing but Synology Nas with Father Roberts favorite things he likes to do with them and a guide to do them. G+_Peter Hanse
Would be great to get low down on best things you can do with your synology. I love ours but know we could do even more with them.
G+_Rud Dog
A complete course on this device is sorely needed. There are some but you have to weed out the sound challenged and just bad video, choices.

G+_Peter Hanse
A few of my favorite things on my Synology 1. Cloud station (Now Drive) it allows me to keep folders synchronized between multiple computers and on NAS so always have access to my files. Takes place of Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft cloud drive, etc 2. Mail Plus server so my E-mails are hosted on my NAS 3. Audio Station allows access to all my music on any device and NAS can directly stream via airplay or google version. 4. Video station where I can keep all my movies and TV shows that I converted from Blue ray or DVD. Also can directly stream via airplay or google version 5. Servalance station make great security camera recorder
G+_Rud Dog
Peter Hanse Hope you don't mind answering some questions on your setup. This has always confused me. You have one file with multiple users having access. How does it a handle changes to files during ti sync process? Does "Mail Plus Server" mean you have your own domain for mail. Mail server makes me think of outlook.live.com - Outlook.com - Microsoft free personal email as my mail server. Does the Synology offer the capability to create your own mail address? Does the Servalance station impact your viewing pleasure? Bandwidth seems like it would become an issue with all the features activated. In my case four cameras? I am asking for real-life experience base on your setup, thank you.
G+_Peter Hanse
Rud Dog 1. For cloud station (drive) we are using to only sync users individual files like your my documents so conflict is not common since it is not files shared with multiplies. But if Thor is conflict it would create duplicate I believe. 2. Mail plus is a mail server so yes I am hosting my own e-mail server. This is for business setup so we have static IP address and own our domain and directed its Mail (mx) record to our static IP 3. For survalance station it can hog bandwidth if not carful in camera selection and setup. Use H264 or H265 compression cameras no Mjpeg. Also have setup only for motion capture on most cameras and camera is motion detector not NAS so it is not constantly receiving stream. We also have mid level end 713+ model and have dual gigabit LAN linked together to it.
