G+_Tyson Brooks
Windows vs Hackintosh ---- Pros, Cons -- What are your thoughts? Worth moving to a hackintosh or not? What about moving back to Linux, I like Ubuntu, or should I try another flavor? For some reason I really like the mac layout and feel of their desktop operating system, so I've even themed ubuntu to look and act like a mac in the past. Feed back appreciated. G+_Travis Hershberger
Considering OS/X is based on BSD, have you considered moving to FreeBSD? Of course if it's just the interface I'd stick with a skinned Ubuntu, but I've got a nasty aversion to skirting licensing agreements.
G+_Nate Follmer
I have a Mac and use BootCamp to get the best of both (or all 3) worlds. The one guy I work with uses a hackintosh and it seems to be more trouble than it's worth. Yes, it works, but upgrades seem to be a pain. I've never personally used the hackintosh, so I'm not speaking from experience, only what I have heard. Mainly the only thing I use the Windows on my Mac for is playing games that don't aren't out for Mac. It runs pretty well actually, faster than my actual Windows PC's, but that's probably because my Mac has a SSD and they do not. Edit: To add to your original question that I seemed to completely miss with my first answer... Use whatever OS you feel most comfortable in. I was a die hard, Anti-Apple anything, Windows/Linux ONLY guy for most of my life. Only about a year ago did I start using Macs for work (we use Final Cut Pro, so I HAD to switch). I love my Macs now and use them 95% of the time, even outside of work. Apples stuff just plain works. Yes, I do feel a bit restricted when I use them, but that's the beauty of the OS's they produce, you're given just enough to do what you have to do. You can get under the hood if you want, but it's not so obvious as it is in Windows. Still use an Android phone though, but I digress :)

G+_Chris Bickhaus
If you like Linux and you like the feel of a Macintosh, give Elementary OS a shot: http://elementaryos.org/. It's based on Ubuntu, but the desktop environment takes some inspiration from Mac OS X.
