G+_George Kozi
We had, and still have trolleybuses. I can see a truck lane with that tech applied to it. Imagine putting the truck on the truck lane in LA at 10 a.m., typing in New York as a destination, and settling down for a good night sleep in the back of the truck cab... Fr. G+_Damian Mongru
I think they were doing something like this for buses, let me see if I can find a link.

G+_Damian Mongru
George Kozi I read your passing thoughts, and they make sense and are logical, and a fair few of them have been done before. So, you better jump on those ideas a bit quicker, patent them and then count the cash ;-)
G+_Randy Hudson
Seems reasonable for long distance transit, basically turning busses and trucks into trains. Not sure I'd want to be on a freeway commute during a power outage if my car was powered by the road.?
G+_George Kozi
If you put down one line that powers the road, you could put down another one right next to it... the backup grid.
G+_George Kozi
and of course, your car could also have it's own power source of some description. In fact it must have, because not all roads would have this kind of tech.
G+_Randy Hudson
Yeah, also seems reasonable that hybrid cars could get power off the road to run their electric motors and revert to their gas motors when they leave the grid. I just wouldn't want to be tied to that grid. I often drive on dirt roads where it is unlikely there will ever be power.
