Bah, Yuck, Pbht,  Eek,  and Gah! What the hell did I do to my body? I used to drink that stuff for years and years and years. In the summer months, a big bottle or two of soda were barely enough.

Mike Elgan Leo Laporte  TWiT does need a cooking and a health show. Geeks sitting at the computer all day and ordering pizza, need it.

Remove the water from a lot of the things we like and it would be hard to find something which is still appealling.

Anyone who has ever operated or recharged one of those soda dispensing machines in a fast food outlet will have direct experience with the 'syrup' that starts the process.

I didn't understand the compulsion of people in California to walk around with bottles of water in their hand until I spent some time in L.A. I can't remember ever being so thirsty – and I grew up in a semi-arid climate. But now I understand it.

My Japanese friends (most over 60) tell me Coke was the only safe thing to drink in Japan following the second world war in many of the large cities. Even today they prefer it. My own consumption of coffee makes me take notice sometimes and wonder what effect this will have on me in years to come.

But I think back and say I was living my life. I liked my younger life. I drank what I liked at the time. I have no regrets about the things I chose then. I was not duped into it, I chose it. My life today is good and my health is relatively good too. There are a lot of other things I chose not to put into my body and for that I am happy. But I certainly don't burn calories the way I used to.

I drink one or two mountain dew a day. I drink many cups of coffee a day, and I am one of those programmer geeks that sit at a desk all day with very little real movement or exercise. I would love if twit began a healthy lifestyle show, focus on way to bring a little more health to our daily routines. Quick healthy recipes and easy workouts or exercise tips, even review apps and devices that can help the sedentary geeks get up and move.
