G+_Dorothy Louderback
I am trying to study for my CCENT & I purchased the Cisco CCENT Network simulator to practice my labs, however when I try to open the lab, it stays stuck on the clock so I'm unable to type the commands in the CLI. I've tried everything. Unistalling& installing it again, double checked I had the requirements needed & even set compatibility tab to windows 7. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!
G+_Brent Burnette
Not sure what program it was you got, but Cisco's student program is called Packet Tracer and is relatively reliable.
G+_Dorothy Louderback
I just posted what I got. Thanks for asking, I should know to be more specific.
G+_Brent Burnette
No problem, I was just asking if that was the program you had or another one... Packet tracer can be found online for free
G+_Brent Burnette
Just saw your other post... I'd check with Pearson about the problems
G+_Dorothy Louderback
What I liked about these labs when I watched the videos is that it asks you to troubleshoot or do different connections like it would on the test. It also gives you hints on what to ask yourself so you can come up with the correct solution. That and I wanted to improve my timing in doing the labs. G+_Edward Barela
From what I could find it seems the Network Simulator was released before Win7 and may not be compatible. http://247pearsoned.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/7349/~/network-simulator-(ccna-or-ccent)%3A-installation I would try to set program compatibility to WinXP or Vista. If that doesn't work I'd install it on a Virtual Machine. I understand why you want to use it since you bought it, and from what you describe it seems pretty good, but also take a look at Packet Tracer. It's a nice simulator that's free for Cisco Netacad students and alumni.

G+_Dorothy Louderback
My labs are working!!! It was a compatibility issue. Even though the specifications indicated it needed a version of Adobe Reader 8.1 and higher, it would only work with version 11 in my laptop. Thank you Brent & Edward for your feedback & suggestions!!! You're both very kind.
