G+_George Kozi
prepare for the idiotic pseudonyms I do not like this. At all. In the beginning, I hated the real name policy, but I came to see that the effect of it was quality. That's one of the reasons G+ was not Facebook or whatever other thing out there that allows people to hide behind pseudonyms. I understand that some may need them, but they will mainly be used ho hid small minded, drive by shooting idiotic comet trolls and spammers. This IS a sellout. With this decision Google went for numbers, not quality. The consequence of this is that from now on, people will post a lot less publicly. I started to post publicly because of the real name policy. Now, I'll have to think about it.? Originally shared by Google+ When we launched Google+ over three years ago, we had a lot of restrictions on what name you could use on your profile. This helped create a community made up of real people, but it also excluded a number of people who wanted to be part of it without using their real names. Over the years, as Google+ grew and its community became established, we steadily opened up this policy, from allowing +Page owners to use any name of their choosing to letting YouTube users bring their usernames into Google+. Today, we are taking the last step: there are no more restrictions on what name you can use. We know you've been calling for this change for a while. We know that our names policy has been unclear, and this has led to some unnecessarily difficult experiences for some of our users. For this we apologize, and we hope that today's change is a step toward making Google+ the welcoming and inclusive place that we want it to be. Thank you for expressing your opinions so passionately, and thanks for continuing to make Google+ the thoughtful community that it is.
G+_Elizabeth Whitmire
It's an interesting debate. Not sure where I stand except that I personally just want to use my own name. If I wanted to use my brand name (if I had one), I guess I'd set up a G+ page...
G+_George Kozi
To me, it feels like G+ lost something today.

G+_Eng. Jorge Santana
I think anonymity can be a powerfull tool for dissidents etc, IMHO it won't damage the quality of conversation on G+.
G+_Ricky Cash
I suppose we could applaud Google for trying to appease the vocal minority that cried for this change. I will withhold judgment and give it a chance. I don't use my real name on Reddit nor does anyone else and I love Reddit. So we will see how it goes. G+_George Kozi
Does any of you early G+ adopters feel a little bit used?
G+_Chase Turner
Well, if it bothers you so much, George, please stop using this free service to self promote and show them how you really feel. Oh, but then you'd maybe miss a dollar here and there, so what to do? I'm betting this grousing isn't going to change your posting here at all. Slow news day? G+_George Kozi
I'm sorry to nay this Chase Turner but that is an easy to sling around load of crap. Cheap shot, does not require any critical thinking on your part. This is something that mattered to me. It's the first time I've been given a reason to distrust Google. G+_George Kozi
Chase Turner and by the way, welcome to Google +. (That the standard greeting for new users.)
G+_Chase Turner
So, your answer is, "I don't know, I'll just keep promoting myself because my 'principles' are hollow and mean less to me than whatever benefit I derive from posting?" It wasn't a cheap shot, believe me. I was pointing out a very fundamental flaw in your own argument and you apparently don't care for that. And if this is the first time you've had a reason to distrust a company, oh my, what a blessed life you lead.
G+_George Kozi
Thank you. I am blessed. Here is a free piece of information for you: posting an opinion does not equate to self promotion. I didn't send you to any website, I didn't asked you to follow me, nor I offered to sell you something. This marks the end of my interaction with you.
