G+_George Kozi
What's up with this anti Windows crusade Leo seems to be on lately?
G+_Chris Woodley
You mean the one everyone has been on since vista ?
G+_Kevin Wendland
I have heard be more positive about windows 8 lately especially on a touch device. Didn't hear the show today...is he going off or something?
G+_George Kozi
Not everyone. I'm on windows, and guess what, it's okay. I'm just noticing him taking quite a hard stance on it, to the point where I'm wondering what is the point of the WW podcast. Two weeks in a row he kinda really bashed the OS in his radio show. G+_Jeff Stevens
I love Windows. And I don't think Leo is "anti-" any manufacturer or major product.
G+_George Kozi
I wouldn't take it that far. IMHO, Win 8.1 is somewhere between meh and just about okay. Not the best, but also not a complete failure.
G+_Jeff Stevens
He called Windows 8 a market failure. It is.
G+_Jeff Stevens
Gavin Gordon Heh. Killing Microsoft? Sure. Right. How much profit did MS make last quarter? Is IBM "dead" yet? :)
G+_Jeff Stevens
No it didn't. The world is changing and they're changing with it. Just depends on if they can change the right way and fast enough. The problem is that most people commenting on TWiT see primarily the consumer side. Microsoft makes tons of money in the enterprise side, and they are VERY well poised to do VERY well there. Not definite, but well positioned.
G+_Jeff Stevens
What? Retraining for Windows 8 will be extremely expensive, but retraining for Linux or Chromebooks or Mac won't? That makes zero sense. Much more likely is that enterprises will skip 8 like they skipped Vista. And the REAL money in enterprises will be hosting, cloud, and services, not in client OS's. G+_Jan Brinkmann
I haven´t had the chance to use W8 yet but I have to say I do like Windows 7 A LOT. I´ve been mainly using Macs for the last 10+ years.
