G+_R. Ade
Hi There, I am a fan of the know how show on the twit network. I am looking for a smart device that one can plug between a cable modem and a home router. I need the device to be smart enough to log all traffic going out of the premises and possibly a device that one can install web filtering software on. I know this can be done by putting a computer with the appropriate network cards between the cable modem and the home router. I need this device to be small and still have good processing power. Something like a Raspberry pi or better. Any ideas anyone. Thanks.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
It depends on how much traffic will be flowing through this connection. You could do it with a home-made tap and a RasPi, but you'd max out at ~30mbps (in both directions)
G+_R. Ade
I am currently on a 25 Mbps plan, but looking to upgrade to a 50 Mbps plan. I will look into the home-made tap with Raspberry Pi option you suggested for now. Thanks for the reply.
