Was playing with an Idea with my Misfits think tankers (The Misfits are a long story) so anyway our state has been closing rural schools and consolidating. (I think it's bad for the students) Again anyway the idea we were toying with was taking a marry go round not being used and turn one into a flywheel generator mounting Magnets on the marry go round and coils mounted within pt plywood box encasing the MGR and removing the top bars and mounting a self adjusting wind catcher on top. Great start looking in we or I can actually get a couple of MGRs for free after talking to a few officials with authority. would like to make our prototype and another as a school summertime project to build a second to mount on top of local schools so here's my question Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ and Community can't beat the price of 8' & 10' + flywheel for the generator being free but where can we get the strongest magnets possible and what's the most compatible power regulator to handle such a massive powerload since it would be direct wire to coil that intwines with multiple cables that would collect and transfer AC NOT DC BUT AC to a power regulator All regulators I can find run DC to batteries and what we or I'm looking for is battery bank and push excess current back onto grid, make that meter spin backwards. In our state Illinois if the meter goes backwards, you get paid and there are tax deductions that come in handy. Our location is on top of hill so are the 2 nearest schools wind never stops and does anyone know where to get the best high power in between equipment to hook the secondary coil that becomes the cables that need to offload the AC charge? In the past (I could use my hands) we've used dishwashers and laundry machines already pre wired yet with a fresh build of coil to wiring would be much larger scale than in the past meaning more hookups and more energy in the wiring, so what's the best idea to capture the energy this beast would put out.? I've showed the plans the Misfits came up with, not what I would put on a school because that plan for a theoretical design uses tesla twice, Seebeck, and Faraday principles so there is actually an Arch reactor with air cooling the magnets with a geothermal liquid radiator and 4 to 6 dc squirrel cage fans running off solar fabric which I've been looking for. ( The Fire Marshal wants a engineer to clear it for electrical codes before it starts spinning for some reason). So if anyone knows where I can get a bunch of strips or cut to size either mono crystal or other photovoltaic materials on fabric? I'm looking into grants for a summertime program to build wind catcher type electric turbines that parents and their children to build various sizes from ceiling fans to educate wind mills 1 year solar panel kits next year things like that, & have volunteers to build the experimental version yet Fire marshal wants to be present with fire truck if that one gets built & the arch design actually works.( Some silly thing about a high pressure faraday cage trapping the field in an area of tiny Tesla coils functioning in reverse, moving parts and volatile compressed air in a device that could explode or ignite the structure on on fire seems to worry the local authorities, whiners) Coils, cables we can get it's Magnets, Solar fabric, and power collecting/converter that can handle fluctuating AC input. Would be a grate project for next summer or 2 :D Know How could do some flywheel generators as a project using a fan or larger brushless motor just for basic safety requirements Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ what would be a good size flywheel for a wholesome family project? :D
