So guys my Father (Dad not priest) asked if he could get a pair of eyes to place in a painting or statue/bust that would literally follow you as you move around as well as some to put on trees that not only follow people as they move around but have eye lids closed till motion is detected. So does anyone know where the animatronics for the eyes be bought and can an arduino and battery/low voltage landscape cable be put outside permanently with rain snow heat cold? How would one setup some creepy eyes or other animatronics outside? Any thoughts Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ ?

A quick tie-in to the low voltage landscape light system sounds do-able... most are 12v or 24v DC systems. Pulse you don't have to put in a day/night sensor.

You may be better off with two small oled screens. Much simpler, robust, and thinner.

 

Tracking is a bit more difficult. You could do face tracking, but you would need at least a pi and some programming skills.

 

I made a camera that tracked someones face in my mid teens. It worked surprisingly well. I can't remember what library I used, but that was around 10 years ago, so it probably much easier and robust now.
