G+_Feiris Wheel (Pat)
Because most houses are more than 5 years old... That time frame is a shot in the dark of about when USB charging became ubiquitous on devices.

G+_Steve Smith
Nah. Hold out a little longer for the awesome wireless charging tech on the horizon. (Though I do have Qi chargers in most rooms throughout my house, I like the WiFi-ish types I've seen demoed.) ?
G+_Ned Jeffery
USB can't transmit reliably over those distances. 10m max. CAT6 would make much more sense. But it all comes down to cost. there is nothing stopping you from cabling up your house. Have you? probably not, because it will cost a couple of thousand dollars to do. G+_Shane Paris
USB has a 5 meter length limit before needing powered USB extensions. Ethernet should be in every room in a house, though. I rewired my house for Cat 5e so I could transfer files fast between PCs and also so I could stream movies on my HTPC.
