I've always preferred HGST drives. They're just a step above the quality of other brands, and WD hasn't changed that, yet.

Travis Hershberger numbers don't lie. I've always been a WD fan, but the Backblaze stats may have changed my mind. Their WD stats don't look terrible, but HGST still look better.

N.A.S. 'n More I don't completely trust those reports, but I've had much better experience with HGST drives than any other manufacturer. Every other manufacturer I've had warranty replacements to handle. Out of 25 HGST drives, I've had none so far, still have 4 within their warranty period tho, so we'll see. Of course the warranty period is 5 years on those compared to 1 or 2 years on most other drives I've actually used.
