I use tap and pay all the time - transactions under A$100 doesn't require a pin. Actually, a lot of transactions where I have to insert the card into the reader don't need a PIN either for under A$100. They're both just ways of exchanging information with the terminal. G+_Mike Zwarich Posted October 28, 2014 Share Posted October 28, 2014 Don Rideaux-Crenshaw I can't understand why the US still hasn't adopted the Chip/PIN cards. Here in Canada we've had them for years (I haven't seen a non-chip card reader in a LONG time), and from what I've heard they've reduced credit card fraud to virtually the same levels as debit card fraud, a vast improvement.
