G+_brett bennett
padre - dealing with wifi interference in the 2.4ghz range, coming from my wireless security cameras - would the cantenna help with getting my wireless routers signal thru the interference so my laptops get a good signal? don't have 5ghz wifi adapters for all my computers, so stuck with 2.4ghz for now

G+_Craig C
A few additional thoughts: 1) If the camera and router antennas are exposed, you might try a reflector. These are cheap and do a great job of boosting/directing signals: http://www.freeantennas.com/projects/template/index.html 2) If the camera router antenna boosts the signal enough to reach the camera with signal to spare, you could wrap the camera antenna with tin foil to reduce the signal. 3) If cost allows it, you could install a 5Ghz link for the camera. If the camera is only 2.4Ghz, then a local 2.4Ghz router near the camera with reduced power (tin foil or router settings and tin foil around the camera antenna may help. 4) Use two routers - one for the cameras on one channel, and a 2nd for internet devices on a different channel. Use only channels 1/6/11. This is probably the easiest if other interference (neighbors, etc.) is not an issue.
G+_brett bennett
thanks for the info - i have purchased a couple 2.4ghz directional antennas, going to try those on a camera and receiver and see if that helps. i'll also look at #1 and 2 and will consider 3 and 4. appreciate the help.
