thanks padre for the info on my security camera/wifi question.  looks like the antenna you referenced was the Hawking HAI6SDP, which looks to be an older device and kind of hard to find, plus expensive due to limited availability.  any current products you would recommend?  my security cameras and the receivers do have sma inputs, so looking at directional antennas is something i had not considered but seems like a great idea.  thanks again! Just jump onto Amazon and search for a 2.4Ghz panel antenna with decent reviews.
