G+_Chuck Evans
Very good idea, especially in earthquake prone areas. The shaking will turn off power to devices. Something similar was done to the water faucets in the homes here in Japan. The old faucets were Down is On and Up is Off. Now they are opposite. G+_Chuck Evans
The old water faucets used to get shaken ON by earthquakes. The government regulators made a rule to require that the Down position be OFF. I like the idea of electrical sockets using this design. Many electric appliances are required to include an OFF switch on the bottom to turn off the device if it is shaken over or knocked down.
