G+_charles beller
I was in Ireland recently. I used ProXPN on my iPad and everything worked fine. With ProXPN on, the browser, Netflix, and Lastpass acted as if I were in San Francisco. With ProXPN off, these programs knew I was in Ireland. OK, ProXPN worked as promised. However, when I tried this with my laptop with Windows 8.1, and ProXPN on, the browsers, Netflix, Lastpass knew I was in Ireland. What is the fix to make the computer seem as if it is in the US? Also, even though anonymity was not working, was encryption working? Thanks for any help.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
That's a new one... I use Win 8.1 and the selectable endpoint feature always works.
G+_610GARAGE
Are you sure that your data was going through the vpn? There may be something wrong with the install that is causing the network data to not be directed to the vpn. Also, I am not sure with ProXPN, but with OpenVPN, you have to run the application with admin privileges, or else it can't direct traffic through the vpn. G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
I belive that ProXPN defaults to routing all traffic through the VPN... even traffic with a local address.
G+_610GARAGE
Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ Yea, but something could have gotten messed up that prevented the program from redirecting the traffic (this is windows we're talking about :) ). Either way, its easy enough to check with your ip address, especial if security is a concern.
