G+_Steve T Posted October 5, 2014 Share Posted October 5, 2014 Have you tried recovery/repair? Put your disk in and reboot. If that doesn't work Is your win8 disk the same type as what's installed now. (Home, Pro or enterprise) if it is do the following Put the disk in, reboot. Follow directions for custom install. G+_Ben Reese Posted October 7, 2014 Share Posted October 7, 2014 Definitely backup what you want, but you probably won't lose everything unless you chose to format the drive. When Windows install sees old files, it creates a folder called Windows.old and throws everything in there. Not very elegant, but it's there...
