G+_Jared Cunningham
Hey guys. Looking for a bit of know-how here. I've set up a D'link IP camera in my workshop. Easy setup, ran some Ethernet and mounted the camera to the wall. I gave my family access to the stream, so they can pop by whenever they want and see what I'm working on. What I'd like to do now is set up an "on air" light or a display that will show me when someone is viewing the stream. Any ideas?
G+_Rich Guy Miller
I do believe the DLink cameras have a variety of models and available settings. So, out of curiosity, which model do you have?
G+_Rob Yesta
Some D-Links cams have a broadcast light.
G+_Jared Cunningham
The model is DCS-934L: http://goo.gl/x5BlBE It has a LED on the backside to indicate that the camera is broadcasting but no visual indication that the stream is being viewed. Within the "advanced" settings of the web interface, there is a count of how many people are accessing the stream. I'm hoping to tap into this one way or another and have it trigger an event to turn on a light or to display the number. Perhaps though I would be better off with a raspberry pi and not something proprietary.
G+_Rob Yesta
That light should flash when being viewed and solid when broadcasting. That is how the 932 works a green light on the front of the
