G+_Karim Gillani
Help with VLANs I have a tomato router that is configured with two wireless SSIDs connected to two different VLANs. One for my internal network One for my homestay students I just purchased a Samsung C640 wireless printer that I want to share with both VLANs. Is this possible? If so, how? Any help would be appreciated :)
G+_Ben Tyger
Most printers, other than the expensive enterprise printers, don't have the ability to exist on multiple VLANs. What I'd do is setup a shared VLAN. Then setup firewall rules so the two other VLANs can only enter the shared VLAN but can't exit it other than the way they came. G+_Karim Gillani
Thanks Ben. I was looking into adding a third vlan when I can across "access to lan" feature on tomato firmware. It allows access to certain IPs from one vlan to another. Worked pretty good. It doesn't allow airplay from the other vlan but I don't care about that. I can print via android if I manually add the printer which is more important to me.?
