G+_George Kozi
There is a rumor going around that the TWiT Live streaming will stop. Leo Laporte Lisa Laporte Is this true? I don't know your reasons for this, but I can tell you this: I only watch live. If there is no more live streaming, the soul of TWiT is gone. The live and behind the scene stuff is what makes TWiT special. Without it, the network is gutted. The Internet is full of pre produced stuff. G+_Corr Dad
I agree. If I can't watch live I'm out.
G+_Chris Pieters
It's true. Livestreams will end on June 1st
G+_George Kozi
well, that's that then. Sanitized polished shows are not that interesting. I got a TV for that.
G+_Tommy Millen
It's sad that's happening! Blame the trolls
G+_George Kozi
if this is about trolls, then they have been handed a victory... but, I don't think it's that simple.
G+_Steven Atkinson
He talks about the reasons at the end of MacBreak Weekly 456. It's sad that as with many things it's the minority that ruin it for the majority. Whilst I don't often watch live the somewhat chaotic nature of the shows is what I find compelling. I just hope they don't edit out too much and leave the live feel.

G+_Peter Schlegel
It won't affect how I watch, as I can never watch the live stream.
G+_George Kozi
the chat room too? That'll be interesting... in the radio show he refers to it all the time. They search stuff for him and tell him answers... ah well, I'm sure he will be alright.
G+_George Kozi
I just worry that the whole ethos of TWiT will shift from "our network" to "one of them TV networks"
G+_Ann Adams
George Kozi , yes, on several occasions, he did liken it to the way it is on TV. I have a feeling that part of the reason might be that they can't track viewer numbers during live feeds, but they can certainly do that with downloads. I will definitely be watching much less. G+_George Kozi
There might be another reason. Screensavers. That was Leo's darling when he worked on a TV network, and now it is back. But that's just a passing thought. I just wish this whole thing wouldn't look so much like a ...."Five minutes delay" the TV people use.
G+_George Kozi
Ann Adams I'm only interested in a few shows on TWit, but because it was a live stream, I used to have it on all the time and kinda watch whatever was on. And by the way, guess how many people will skip the adds in the downloads...
G+_Daniel Reeves
George Kozi The TWiT live stream is what I leave on at work and I enjoy the things that go on before and after a show and the "live" feeling the shows gave me. I will probably still leave the the stream running for work, but I am disheartened by this move based on Trolls. :( So yeah, this has basically turned into an online TV channel. G+_George Kozi
I'm watching right now Paul talking about how hot was today in Boston, and Mary Jo telling us what was one of her nicknames in high school... all this pre show stuff makes them feel like real people... after all this is edited out, they will just be TV experts. G+_Zulhaimi Abdul Hamid
Leo mentioned that majority of audiences download shows post production. So it makes $$$ sense to stop live cast. I just wish that now production quality will improve.
G+_Roy Delgado
You do realize there is a totally different reason why this is happening, and this week of all times? One that has nothing to do with money, or trolls, or a particular hater? Not airing live means you can remove mistakes, and big mistakes that go out live can be dangerous or expensive. Maybe there was a big mistake just a few days ago that went out live. If that did happen, a move like this could be a reaction to make sure it doesn't happen again. G+_Zulhaimi Abdul Hamid
What big mistake? Which show?
G+_Roy Delgado
The Tech Guy. Gawker just put up a story. If you go to that page, it's easy to find by searching names, or just find it on the front page. 5th or 6th story down. Official word is it's a photoshop, but I don't believe that at all. G+_Roy Delgado
IF it were a photoshop created by a group of haters, that would not explain why that episode of The Tech Guy doesn't exist, without the mistake, at all on TWiT's sites. It's as if that episode just disappeared. Also, it would take government level video editing work to edit that into this video, along side two pictures of another person in shadows sleeping in a bed. G+_George Kozi
whatever that was, let it be. I haven't seen anything and I shall not see it either. This is about TWiT and live streaming.
G+_Roy Delgado
That is about TWiT and live streaming too, George Kozi . A mistake like that would be a very easy to understand reason why someone would require every show to be edited before airing instead of streaming live. Under the new policy, in the 5 hour delay an Ooops like that will just get cut out.
