G+_Ben Reese
I could check with T-Mobile directly, but geeks usually know more about the technology than the people who support it... With the $30 Straight Talk service from Walmart, do you still get binge on? I wasn't sure if that deal was extended to T-Mobile MVNOs or not. And I think I saw that YouTube was added to binge on... Is that for uploads too? I tether to my Sprint M8 every week for streaming to YouTube and I'd consider switching to T-Mobile if uploads are covered in the deal. G+_John Gilbert
Nope, no binge. But straight talk offers a 10 GB package for $55 a month
G+_John Gilbert
I use straight talk on att. Never a problem
G+_Ben Reese
Thanks. I didn't think the $30 deal would include that, but worth asking. I'm still on a plan giving me 3 subsidized phones with unlimited (I assume unlimited - don't think I've ever gone over 15GB in a month) data for $150 / mo. I get 3 heavily discounted phones every 2 years... Still hard to beat with current plans.
G+_Peter Hanse
Not sure if t-mobile $30 pre paid includes binge on. http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/other-prepaid-plans?clickid=wAW0AHU3HS-o2daRL2xHz3ORUkSRE5SNy0Myx80&iradid=189313&cmpid=WTR_AF_189313&irpid=38664&irgwc=1 Worth looking into
G+_Peter Hanse
Here is what plans have binge o. And what that covers https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-24291#subhead2
G+_Ben Tyger
What about Fi? Unless if you have the right hardware, it is one of the best carriers out there. 2 networks at once and you only pay for what you need.
G+_Ben Reese
I like the idea of Fi, but it's a bit expensive for me. I use 10GB a month. It might level out with savings from my wife and mother in law. But that's the problem with most carriers/plans now though... The base plan ends up cheaper, but I have to calculate in another $60/mo to pay for the 3 phones. That $30/mo plan is the only one that comes close to breaking even... sigh so few choices.... G+_Ben Reese
Yeah, checked out Ting when they were first announced a few years ago. Not a bad deal, but still would cost more than what I'm paying now.
G+_Golden Retriever
Fi is good if you add WI-FI when in range, it does take a little set up time but once you have the wi-fi set up at your most common locations your data gets reasonable. As far as I know they still don't have family plans, each phone has its own plan.
