G+_George Kozi
There is at least one book and movie worth of ideas in this thing... ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Denise Howell when this stuff becomes a reality (and it will) I guess there will be A LOT of Law stuff around these kinds of issues to sort out. We have gone to space for a while now, and I'm sure that "The Thousand Miles High" Club has quite a lot of members already.? Originally shared by George Kozi Weird passing thoughts... some day soon, we will have to deal with this kind of stuff. Imagine this: in the not too distant future, Earth establishes a permanent international, self-sustaining base on Mars, or a permanent, self-sustaining space station around Jupiter. The researchers and soldiers assigned to these places, spend at least five years there. During that period, a child is born. Questions: 1) this child is a Homo Sapiens , but is he an Earthling? 2) is he a citizen of Earth, or must there be some sort of legal process to give him that. 3) would he, as a native of Mars, have more rights on that planet than a colonist that came from Earth to work there for a while? 4) Will he automatically have permission to relocate to Earth, or will someone on Earth have to decide to let him come here. 5) Will Homo Sapiens inevitably split into: Homo sapiens Tellurensis (of Earth) and Homo Sapiens Caelestis (of the Sky)
