G+_Michael Heinz
So, my family has been very supportive of my quadcopter hobby. They are also very supportive of my buying prop guards for my 250 to avoid maiming them or myself... I bought these from HK, but the holes don't seem to quite fit the motor mount holes on the HK 250 frame - and they also seem to interfere with the 250's feet. Any ideas on an alternative or another way to mount them? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__73581__Propeller_Guards_for_the_250_Class_Racer_5inch_Set_of_4_AR_Warehouse_.html
G+_Eddie Foy
Open the holes up a bit? Not sure about the LG
G+_Michael Heinz
Well, I was under the impression you shouldn't cut or drill carbon fiber, is that allowed? If so, I might just cut a notch out of the guards to clear the feet.
G+_Eddie Foy
The guards are CF? Those holes weren't molded in, they were drilled. The reason 'they' say that is it can cause delamination (same could be said for any 'glass/G-10 G-11 etc.) If you use an abrasive (sandpaper or the like) it will have less chance of delaminating. You also do not want to go say from top to bottom, but along the edge. (if that make sense) I spent a few years as a machinist specializing in plastics. If its clamped tightly with a backing (and topping) plate and you drill a new hole you won't delamminate it. Its also just a prop guard, nothing critical. G+_Phorest Sherwood
Michael. What system are you using for FPV?
G+_Michael Heinz
No FPV yet. I'm leaving towards getting a fatshark bundle when the time comes but I want to do this one step at a time and get comfortable with it. The video I generated yesterday came from velcroing a Polaroid action cam next to the battery.
