G+_Michael Heinz
So, what do y'all use as a work surface for your soldering and repair work? I have an ancient 12"x18" sheet of plastic that was intended to use as a modeller's cutting board - it's a self-healing material that closes up again after cuts from an Xacto knife. It's perfect for working on model trains and my lastest Gundam model but it's not heat resistant which means it's got a few marks on it where I held the soldering iron against a join too long, so now I'm using a small square of cork as a soldering surface. Any suggestions for something better?
G+_Eddie Foy
A piece of very hard wood, ie: Teak, Walnut, Hickory, Pecan, etc. If you have a West Marine store near by, I bought a Teak outlet plate that had no holes. Could be a good choice.
