G+_Michael Heinz
Is there a better radio receiver out there that I could use with my existing FlySky transmitter? Something with diversity antennas?
G+_Mr covert
Put a FrSky module in it then use FrSky receivers.
G+_Michael Heinz
FrSky module? I don't understand.
G+_Nick Whitworth
So the radio has two parts, the controls, and the radio module. You can replace the module in your FlySky radio with one from FrSky. You would probably get better range, I would probably just get a Taranis so you get all the advanced features and more channels.
G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
I bought a FrSky Tarranis -- There's a module that lets it work with the FS-T6 receiver.
G+_Carl Elton
Michael Heinz Just to let you know The Tarranis saved my butt yesterday. My quad was caught in a good wind and the return to home wasn't strong enough to fight it so I crashed it in a wooded area. I was able to find it with the signal meter on the Tarranis as a pointer. It makes quad recovery a lot easier.
G+_Michael Heinz
That's interesting. I assume you have some telemetry?
G+_Michael Heinz
Nick Whitworth , the FlySky transmitter doesn't support modules, as far as I can tell. So I guess I have to add this to my "upgrade" list. Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ - the Taranis has a much stronger output than the FlySky?
G+_Nick Whitworth
Michael Heinz? FrSky sells a universal module that can be fitted to just about any transmitter with a little soldering.
G+_Carl Elton
Michael Heinz It is built into the radio and the X8R plus receiver. Look at Hobby King for the package. Price is around $200 but it is worth the price of not losing another Quad. Then you can add on sensors for Alt and Battery.
G+_Mr covert
Just going with a taranis is also another option. I have one and swear by it. Other brands three times the price don't have it's features
G+_Michael Heinz
I'm tempted, believe me. The limitation is I have a daughter leaving for college in two months....
