So, it seems they keep tweaking these frames - the newest FPV260 frame I got has extra loops, presumably for the battery strap and new spaces for wires to be run (see the notches in the arms).

I deliberately chose to use the extra loops for the battery strap to see how it would go - I'll have to post a picture.

 

I still wish the central well was a bit deeper - despite the holes there really isn't enough room to cleanly route wiring under the controller.
