G+_Michael Heinz
So, I'm thinking about moving up from my old, original Hobby King 250 kit, and I was wondering if anyone had any opinions about this one? http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__85287__Quanum_Outlaw_270_Racer_Quadcopter_Frame_Kit.html
G+_Travis Hershberger
Stop tempting me to buy more toys before I even put the ones I already have together! ;-)
G+_Michael Heinz
LoL. Given the awful experience of breaking arms over and over with the old body I find the reinforcements reassuring, and the mostly pre-soldered PDB compensates for my horrific soldering skills. On the other hand, the added weight means my 5 1000mah batteries will be nearly useless....
G+_Travis Hershberger
Yeah, don't think those will last you very long with that frame. I wanna build a racer, but I'm not good enough at flying yet to make that sort of investment. At least I've got the basics ready to go now. G+_Steve C
Seems pretty expensive but if you hover over it for a while they will give you an offer to buy it for $92.13 saving $5.00.
G+_Michael Heinz
Yeah, but that's a bare frame, doesn't save me from my bad soldering .
G+_52Degrees
Is your lack of solder skills based on perceived beauty or kind of problem with excess smoke after power up?
G+_Michael Heinz
The problem is my hand shakes like I have Parkinson's, leading to really bad solder joins. This isn't a fear-of-soldering thing, I just have really shaky hands. It's why I went into computer science instead of computer engineering.
