G+_George Kozi
Smart technology at work. Some of you may appreciate the complexity involved in pulling off this. G+_bil Jeschke
Wouldn't work in the US. Bicycles are above the law and do not have to stop for anything. Been many times I have almost hit one as they; run a red light, turn without signaling, or ride in the middle of the lane going the wrong way. And often this is when a bike path runs parallel to the road.
G+_Randy Hudson
Not many places in the US have separate bike lanes like this. Usually you just have to ride at the edge of the same road the cars drive on.
G+_David Smith
This is not smart tech they are using push buttons like a pedestrian crosswalk, we've had this for years. We need some low tech bike lanes added everywhere.
G+_George Kozi
have you noticed the automatic adaptability of the lights to the sort of traffic in the intersection?
G+_David Smith
no, did not see that, I see separate ped and bike lights with different timing. I worked on traffic signals for 17 years in CA, we had this capability in the 80s but it was never specced. I do like the countdown timers. When I left in the 90s they were developing the ATC 2070 spec, it runs a Linux kernel. I'm not sure what EU uses, but I'm not surprised they are ahead of US.
