G+_The Grimm Perspective -
Other than to reduce the jello effect of video, is there a real reason to balance props to the extent that some do?
G+_Taylor Graham
Excess vibrations reduce the flight controllers effectiveness, so yes. I don't balance my props much on my 250. I only really notice when I'm punching out hard, even then it doesn't really effect my flight.
G+_Midwest Concert Video
Some small increase in battery life? Any energy going to vibration is not going to thrust.
G+_Eddie Foy
Vibration tears things up. Look at the flight time vs maint time on a helicopter vs plane.
G+_Paul Moran
The Jello effect can also be caused by having too fast a shutter speed. Shutter speed should be max double the fps that you are recording in. So if you're shooting 24fps then shutter speed should be max 1/50th of a second.
