G+_William Burlingame
Can WannaCry encrypt hidden partitions and files?
G+_Steve Martin
I don't see why not. Hidden files are just set by an attribute. Any software can see them. They are only hidden from the user in Explorer.
G+_Black Merc
I thought the drive/partition/network_drive/usb_drive had to be mounted for the files to be accessible to any software? Sure the attacker could write a script to scan for and mount unmounted drive/partition on the current machine. But, why infect a single machine twice? The intent is obviously to spread to multiple networked machines to make more money.
