G+_William Burlingame
I installed Pi-Hole on my LAN and now the video on the http://TWIT.TV site won't play. What domain should I Whitelist to permit the TWIT site to work properly?
G+_Arcturus Lancaster
No idea but you can install wire shark and find out what DNS calls are being made when you open the twit page
G+_Jason Brown
you'll have the same problem with Hulu. it wont play if you block their ads. Log into the Pihole and see what things are being blocked. You can also google Pihole and twit to see if others had the same issue.
G+_Ben Reese
I'm not sure that's the case. I don't have any problems playing TWiT live. As an alternative, you can load the twitch, ustream, or YouTube stream directly.
G+_William Burlingame
I was ho[ping someone at TWIT who is familiar with the website's code would provide an answer. The live feed on TWIT works fine. It's only the recorded shows that are a problem. Of course, there are other sources for the recorded shows and I did the disable for 10 seconds to get it started on the TWIT site. I have the ad-free version of HULU. G+_Jason Brown
did the pi-hole logs shed any light? They will log the items I believe as "Pi-Holed"
G+_Ben Tyger
Is it because of the CDNs?
G+_Ben Reese
Sorry... Did a minimal amount of research and forgot to report back. It looks like many (maybe all) downloads go through podtrac. Maybe podtrack is being blocked by your Pihole? It's not on mine. Also possible podtrac is redirecting that through another tracker before the final CDN, but I kinda doubt it. Could try adding podtrac to your white list to see if that's the issue. https://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp4/cdn.twit.tv/video/kh/kh0374/kh0374_h264m_1280x720_1872.mp4 twit.cachefly.net - www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp4/cdn.twit.tv/video/kh/kh0374/kh0374_h264m_1280x720_1872.mp4
G+_William Burlingame
This morning it's working. I haven't seen any change in the logs. One thing that makes it difficult to test is the caching of the browsers. Earlier, I would try to do a temporary disable. I also tried to clear history. I don't know if the success this morning will be permanent or not. I did a message to the bug report email and explained the situation pointing out that I wasn't making a claim of a bug. I do not see podtrac in the log.
