G+_bil Jeschke
But people will still watch them and won't leave. Kinda sad.
G+_Phillip Stewart
I was just casting a few Facebook videos to my Chromecast for the first time. YouTube does the same with ads, so no big surprise there. But I get commercial free YouTube due to Red, so if the video is on both, I'll choose YouTube. Facebook doesn't seems to have a good queuing interface.
G+_William L. DeRieux IV
Phillip Stewart Youtube does the same thing? They interrupt the middle of he video to show ads? I only see ads at the beginning with Youtube, never in the middle (like Facebook is reportedly going to start doing).
G+_Phillip Stewart
William L. DeRieux IV Maybe it is only with long videos. I'm not sure how much control the YouTube creators have over the location of ad placements, but in a two hour video there can be several interruptions with YouTube placed ads. G+_William L. DeRieux IV
Phillip Stewart I have watched Youtube videos that are 1-2 hours (mostly gameplay footage, or conferences) and never had ads in the middle (only at the beginning). Also, I think that it really depends on how you watch Youtube and specific content (with more ads being on the popular content). If you watch the videos through a youtube app -- the app could inject ads at anytime.
G+_David Pick
Phillip Stewart I've found it definitely depends on the YouTube channel.I was watching a 30 minute video that was interrupted with an add like every 2 minutes the other week. I couldn't figure out if that was YouTube or the channel creator doing that.
G+_William L. DeRieux IV
David Pick I suspect that was a case of baked-in advertising which (based on what I have heard) Youtube doesn't seem to like and wants to remove (they can't make money from the baked-in ads).
