G+_Stuart Davies
Completely random question. I have a battery toothbrush that charges wireless. I placed it on my wireless phone charger and the charge light came on. Questions: Is it charging? Will it damage the battery? Is it dangerous? G+_Scott Boggs
Yes. Probably not. Probably not, but it's a lithium ion battery, and you don't know if the manufacturer put the protection circuits in the dock or the device. You always want to bear in mind that lithium ion batteries are basically bombs if you charge them wrong. Lithium ion batteries are all ~4v/cell and wireless chargers are probably going to come nowhere near the current to overcharge a battery so you'd be safe for a little while but I wouldn't leave it on overnight, just in case of shit design. Also wireless charging for a toothbrush, that makes so much sense! No leads to corrode!
G+_Black Merc
Where do you think the cellphone co. got the idea? The toothbrush wireless/contactless charging was a way to asure users that the device was not going to 'short-out' if droped in water. Back in the '80s and '90s... (Yes the tech is that old)

G+_Jason Perry
Same tech, I think the reason it didn't catch on with cellphones faster is the amount of charging it has to do. I can't see an issue unless there is no charge protection, which I highly doubt they would leave that out.
