G+_Johnathan Turner (Refra
PSA: windows 10 is now auto installing itself on computers. I shut down my windows 8 PC to go get ready for work and walked back to an in progress windows 10 install. Be ready for your less technology inclined friends and family to be asking tons on windows 10 questions. :D
G+_Wolf 68k
That's been going on for a while now.

G+_Rud Dog
So if I am reading this correctly if you don't want to have W10 installed automatically you need to make sure that "Give me Recommended updates " is unchecked? If memory serves correctly this choice is shown when you select to have the Tuesday patch installed, correct?
G+_Ronald Stepp
I think I just changed the updates on one of my computers to download but wait for me to verify them.
G+_Ben Reese
To be fair, this really is an upgrade for Windows 8. Still think the whole thing is bad on Microsoft's part. I get why they're doing it, but it's still bad.

G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Happens if you have the updates set to auto-install. Have to turn it off and manually install ONLY the non Win10 updates. /grrrrrr
G+_Rud Dog
Just had a screen pop up this morning when I powered up my PC Window 8 machine. The update gave me 3 choices update now, later to night or about a week from now. Sounds more like a threat. Padre were you eluding to the auto updates be turned off? Need to cut this off before it does update have some stuff that won't run on 10.
G+_Rud Dog
Just turned off auto updates choosing to only download if I select to update. Unfortunately there is a note stating something like Windows can override the choices you select, me thinks.

Now gonna have to keep my laptop turned off till I get this resolved.

G+_Stephen Wierman
Did you still have to accept the terms and conditions before it installs? Or did it install with zero prompting on your part?
