G+_Al McKinlay (YaManicKil
A couple of things... First of all, the crew asked about NFC and whether it is actually useful on a tablet. 3 words: Lastpass + YubiKey Neo. The YubiKey is a great thing for 2-factor authentication (and hooks brilliantly into lastpass), and the Neo version uses NFC. This means you can use the Yubikey with lastpass on your phone and (yeah, you guessed it) tablet. It works really well, and means you don't have to "trust" your mobile device because you are using Google Authenticator and it's annoying entering it every so often. It works amazingly. Secondly, I thought I would share my tasker usage. I use it (along with secure settings) to disable my lockscreen password when I'm at home (although I really want to be able to disable the lockscreen in full, but haven't been able to find a plugin for that). I also use it to turn my screen off when I put it in my slip case (using NFC again).
G+_Joseph Cappellino
Alistair McKinlay, To disable the lockscreen completely, look for "Keyguard" in the "Secure Settings" plugin. Good luck!

G+_Ed Reilly
Alistair McKinlay Can you expand more on how YubiKey works? I use lastpass and google authenticator, but it can be a pain at times.
G+_Al McKinlay (YaManicKil
YubiKey is a little USB device that has 2 functions: 1. online authentication with yubikey servers 2. stored password You can connect a yubikey to your lastpass account so that when you log into lastpass on a computer instead of typing in the google authenticator code, you plug in your yubikey and press a button. This means that it authenticates over the internet and verifies it. You still have your normal password obviously. I don't know exactly how it works over NFC, but I imagine it works just like plugging it in via USB. https://lastpass.com/support_screencasts.php?feature=yubikey1
