G+_Nick Whitworth
Has anyone bought any of the $100 250 Quad kits available on Ebay? You get a frame (it says it's carbon fiber), 4 ESCs, 4 motors, 4 props, power distribution, and a CC3D flight controller. I built a 450 a few months ago, now I'm looking at building a 250, but I want something a little more advanced than the Hobbyking FPV 250 kit. G+_Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ
Back of Napkin: 4 x 2208 Motors: $60 4 x 30amp ESCs: $40 Frame: $10 Flip FC: $15 Power Distribution: $5 4 - 5x3x3 props: $5 $135 That's a pretty solid kit... It's a monster, actually... could drop $20 out by going with smaller motors.
G+_Nick Whitworth
That's almost the exact parts list I was planning, Padre. I have to wonder about the reliability of the no name ESCs in red heatshrink, with "12 AMP" stamped on them. What about the $20-$30 "Carbon Fiber" 250 frames on ebay? They look suspiciously similar to the fiberglass 250 frame from RTF Quads.
G+_Brent Burzycki
I purchased this a month or so ago - http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__45468__Turnigy_SK450_Quad_Copter_Powered_By_Multistar_Quadcopter_5X_Package_Mode_1_Ready_to_Fly_.html To say it has issues and is not perfect.. well it would be true. Better to buy the better parts like suggested by Fr. Robert Ballecer, SJ and crew and learn how it works - it will make it all less painful. The SK450 comes with what I would deam the almost worst instructions for a new user that I have seen.
