G+_Nick Whitworth
Here are some recent mods I've made to my FlySky T6. The lack of 3 position switches always bugged me and really limited the usefulness of this radio to me. I was on the verge of buying a new radio till I found this mod. I swapped out the pots for switches, and I think I've decided to keep this radio for a while. All it takes is a few 3 way switches and a few 2.7k resistors. I know I'm not the first person to do this mod, I just want people to know that it is possible. I replaced SWD with the new switch, and rewired SWB to switch between the new switch and the old pot, VRB (in case I want to use a gimbal). On the other side, I just replaced VRA with the switch. It's a really easy mod for anyone who can solder, and it greatly improves the usefulness of this radio. I highly recommend it, and I am glad to help anyone who needs help. ? G+_Nick Whitworth
I also picked up a 2200mah 3s lipo for about $10 on eBay. It fits in the battery tray so no more AAs for me. It requires a little bit of soldering, but that is another great mod.
G+_Michael Heinz
So, basically you replaced a dial with something that returns 0/50%/100%?
G+_Nick Whitworth
Yes. The flight controller (In my case a FlipEZ running MultiWii) doesn't know or care what is connected to the channel. All it sees is the data from the receiver. 3 position switches are found on a lot of transmitters, but strangely, not on the FS-T6.
G+_Russ Hall
I found that the receiver that comes with this T6 is quite sensitive to heat. Mine stops working well when it gets hot.
