G+_Tim Ingles
Navigation isn't gone with new maps app... The activity is still there you can get to it within the app or if you are using a launcher that supports activities you can add it again. Those that still have it I suspect it is because the icons in folders don't update (in my experience). Yes the interface has changed and some functionality of navigation has disappeared but it isn't gone. P. S. Locations in g+ does the auto location tracking that latitude did(no check-in required) we did loose time of last update (for me this is the most disappointing) , and accuracy bubbles though)
G+_Josh Jett
I really miss that nav icon. I'm using Nova Prime. How were you able to get to what you see on screenshot? Can you then pin the nav icon to a home page?

G+_Josh Jett
Thank you. I found it, bit I don't seem to be able to pin the icon to a home screen. Is this doable? Thanks again for your help.
G+_Michael Conrad
I didn't realise there was a worry that navigation had somehow disappeared with the new Maps app. I find it's actually easier to get to and feels more like an extension of the Maps app than altogether separate. G+_Josh Jett
I just got used to having that icon. Old habits die hard. I probably should just get on board with the new maps...
G+_Tim Ingles
Josh Jett Click and hold from app drawer then put on empty spot, Michael Conrad the only thing I actually miss from navigation section is the swipe right to get to contacts w/ addresses... Now I have to go to contacts app then click on address then navigate to there
G+_Josh Jett
Tim Ingles I have the maps icon in the drawer, but no nav icon. The only place I see nav icon is from the method you described earlier (activities). From there, the icon cannot be moved to home screen.
G+_Tim Ingles
You should just have to tap it(from the activities thing) and it will go where you dropped the activities widget icon

G+_Josh Jett
GOT IT!!! THANKS!! Slightly different than you described: long press on home screen, select "shortcuts", maps> navigation. Thanks for your help (and patience).

G+_Wade Shields
Josh Jett Here is another way that may be easier for you. Go to the homescreen you want the NAV icon pinned to (make sure you have a 1x1 space available. Press and hold till you get the popup for Widgets, Wallpapers, etc. Choose SHORTCUTS, then select ACTIVITIES, then scroll to and select MAPS, then select NAVIGATION. After you select Navigation, an icon with the NAV logo will appear on your homescreen and when you select it, that will take you to the new interface for Navigation within the MAPS app. I have done this several times to test it and it works everytime, if you follow the instructions.
